Dionisio Gutierrez


Dr. Gutiérrez is President of Fundación Libertad y Desarrollo, a foundation dedicated to the analysis, investigation and discussion of human matters with the objective of proposing and promoting solutions that allow economic, social and civic development in an environment of freedom, democracy and rule of law.

He Serves in the boards of CMI, Corporación Multiinversiones, Latin American Board of Georgetown University and Trustees of Francisco Marroquín University. Is a Member of The John Hopkins’ Atlantic Basin Initiative. Dr. Gutierrez is also General Director and anchorman of Dimensión, a television show that presents documentaries, analysis and dialogues on economic growth, social development and democratic values. He participates in several think tanks and gives conferences on social and political issues.

Professional History:

  • Corporate President and CEO of CMI, Corporación MultiInversiones, until October of 2010 for 34 years. CMI is a family business incorporated in 1902 with over thirty thousand collaborators with presence in 19 countries in 3 Continents.
  • General Director and anchorman of Libre Encuentro, a television show, which until the end of 2010 and for 20 years conducted analyses and discussions on social, economic and political issues with emphasis on Latin America. In Guatemala.
